Fantastic start to 2014! Fender, Epiphone & OLP to name but a few

Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope 2014 is a happy, healthy and wealthy one for you all.

2013 was a fantastic year for Tonefinder and it was a real privilege to be able to work on so many amazing guitars and meet some incredible people in the process. Thank you to everyone for your custom.

2014 has started in a similar vein with the ‘normal’ set-ups and rewires coming in to the workshop. There’s also been a couple of interesting modifications requested too which have worked out very well indeed.

I always try and bring you the highlights in these updates so here goes:

1. I’m currently working on a very, very nice Epiphone Swingster that, as it turns out, has a rather dodgy push/pull switch for the coil-tapping. All the electrics will have to come out of that so there’s an interesting challenge!

2. I’ve got an OLP Musicman copy in for a full set-up and new nut (the old nut suffered some rather serious damaged). I haven’t had a chance to actually play it yet as it came in with no strings fitted but the fret wear warrants some serious attention.

3. I was contacted last week regarding a Fender Jazz bass that the owner had acquired some custom wound Mojo pickups for and wanted them fitting/wiring. The frets on the neck are a little uneven so a full set up is also the order of the day including a fret level and dressing.

There’s plenty of other work coming in too which is, in my humble opinion, absolutely brilliant!!

Don’t forget to give me a shout if you have any questions or queries about any work you’re thinking about having done. If I can help, I will.
